Insurance for missing connecting flights

What is the best insurance that provides cover for missing connecting flights due to flight delays on first flight?
we have booked flights from U.K. to SA and then have in separate bookings booked internal flights. Same for the return. We are concerned if our flights get delayed and we miss our connecting flight so wondering what is the best insurance to provide cover for this? Not sure if best to be part of general travel insurance or if can do a specific travel insurance just for that cover?

This is not an insurable risk.

The only way to cover it is by getting a Diners' Club card and using it to pay for the flights. You would then benefit from an insurance policy that includes cover for something called 'travel inconvenience' applies to this situation.

Perhaps you should change your domestic flights.

https://www.oasisinsurance.co.uk/travel-insurance/ is another with missed connection cover.

Not sure if any of these are of direct relevance to OP's requirements but it certainly seems viable to obtain some cover in this area....
