Morning 😀. Shopping day for me too. My month starts on the 28th but I’ve held off for as long as I could but we are almost out of milk. I’m hoping that not having a fixed shopping day and therefore shopping every 8,9 or even 10 days rather than every week might encourage me to use up and make do and therefore save me some money. We’ll see!
I had ordered a Too Good To Go box from Morrisons but it’s been cancelled due to lack of surplus 😢. I’ll try again next week.I’ve done a stock check and a meal plan and a list. Very well stocked pantry and freezer so it’s just fruit, veg, salad and dairy plus a few pantry items that get used up every week like oats. It should be a small spend this week 🤞
Happy sunny Thursday to you all and the best of luck with your thrifty endeavours😀

Thank you @elsiepac for the new thread, I’m abit late this month. Finally decided on my budget for September, as always for 2 adults and 3 children, all food and cleaning supplies included. Dogs are currently off their dental chews as one has an (already expensive) allergy and we’re trying to find out if it’s those, food or environment so changing things one by one, so nothing for dogs will be included this month.Back to school next week and eldest two will be packed lunch, littlest starting school so will be having the free school meals, which will help stretch the lunches abit further. This month is also our 10 year anniversary, late grandads birthday and grandad still with us birthday, anything bought for these events will come out of a separate budget. Apart from above everything else will come out of the budget;
£150 for 2nd to 30th September please.

I’ve done my 1st food order of September. £135.11. My 1st food shop of August was about £175 so I’m getting better!
Going to make cookies for the children next week and I already have all the ingredients for them. Also thought it won’t make much difference if I leave out miso pasted from vegan lasagne so didn’t buy any more of that, have found a few things that I used to buy that realised it won’t make much difference to anyone if I don’t buy them anymore. So happy with how things are going 😊Family of 5 vegan humans plus a non vegan cat.

Joining please with £150!
That's 2 adults and a cat, not including milk bill.
Spent £5.62 today in A*di - it's very near work. My cat usually eats Doubly Delicious or As Good As it Looks, but he's pulling his face at it the last few days. I think he likes a neighbour cat's food better. Right then... A*di's equivalent appears to be "A tasty looking dish", let's see if that'll do. It works out at 23p a pack instead of 35p.Keep reading books!

I'm baaaaacckkk....... 😂
Right, scores on the doors today is a total of £32.71 spent. I went to MrL, but then also popped next door to MrAl because i noticed that they did an ambient filled pasta range that I wanted to try/to try a new (to me) recipe with. It was a case of 'do the tour' as a fellow MrL customer was again with us in MrAl, and the people parked next to us in MrAl packed up their shopping, and zoomed off....... next door to MrL 🤣
All the SEL stacked up with what I was charged at the till today (huzzah!). NEW things that have happened in our MrL include a 'reduced to clear' section on the bread shelves. We've had the RTC 'bins' by the bread aisle before, but this was a tray (like they put in the fridge sections), with all bread products rtc at 20p, actually located on the shelf. I got a loaf of h0v1s wholemeal for 20p. Also, new to (our) MrL - but you will all know that they have been sold in MrAl for ages - are tinned black beans and tinned green lentils. They are price matched to MrAl too, 49p a tin. For me this is a good thing, as it's one less thing (if in stock) I have to travel to MrAl to buy (although in reality I am more likely to pick up a tin or 2 if I'm instore at MrAl for summat else).
I was able to get everything on my list and the till operative was nice and cheery (tbf they usually are in that branch), I did buy a packet of biscuits (animal shapes) that I made the mistake of picking up to look at and then LG wanted them 🙄but it was a 99p spend - cheaper than a cake & c0ke in a restaurant I guess. I was slightly irked to see that mushy peas have gone up in price again - they are now 30p a tin. I did buy my planned 2 tins, but thinking about it, I'm not sure if 'cardboard box fish, chips & mushy peas' will feature on the menu much anymore, due to price rises, so perhaps I could have left them on the shelf. But I do still have some marrowfat peas too, so if all else fails, Snert it is!
Anyway, we have food to eat and by default the freezer is jam-packed. I am certainly going to have to review 'what' is actually stored in the freezer now we have reduced capacity. To a certain extent, the changing seasons will help, as bread can be left out with less fear of going mouldy than in the height of summer.
I did pick up a couple of punnets of pre-sliced mushrooms for 20p each in MrL. Not something I normally buy, but they will be useful for pizza topping, so worth it to me.

300.00 please for me. Two adults, two teenagers.
Spent so much during the summer holidays, lots of ice lollies etc during heatwave and picky food and not really stuck to a meal plan, and the finances have been hit hard with everything in the world like it is at the moment.
