    Hi xxxxx

After a full review of your William Hill account, we're pleased to confirm that there was no unauthorized access to your account.

So now i have to send them some ID...

This is more  William Hill than Santander, but wasnt sure which forum  to post it in...

Anyway, this morning i placed a £10 football bet via William Hill after depositing £10 with Santander debit card ( use WH quite regularly, using same card )

I went into " My bets" to check bet place ok ( which it was ) and noticed another live bet, which i hadnt placed - £100 double on over 2.5 goals on a Czech 3rd division game, and over 3.5 goals in another Czech 3rd division game. It was placed one minute after my own genuine bet..

Logged onto Santander immediately - my pending balance was showing the £10 for genuine bet ok,  but not the £100.

Went onto online chat with William Hill and logged what had happened ( couldnt find a tel no to report this ) they have suspended my account, and apparently will follow up by email to me, though have had nothing back yet.

Called Santander Fraud team, and they also can see the £10 pending, but nothing at all for the £100. they will keep an eye on my account, but they suspect it is a William Hill issue.

I did try to cash the bet out, just to clear it off, but that failed.
Incidentally it WAS a winning bet which would pay nearly £400 - the required amount of goals were scored in both games not long after half time.

Anyone got any ideas on this, or had similar happen ?

It could be a fault in the WH site accidentally showing you data from another users account.

"over 2.5 goals" - why not over 2 goals?

...or do they award fractional goals in Czech football?

Its how these types of bets are always presented, with all bookies, and on every league in the world.
I think the more important thing here is how is that even relevant/helpful to the question.

First response on the thread too.

    Disappointing.

I have never had this issue with William Hill, but I would consider changing your password. Recommend using a password manager like Last Pass using a random password generator to create passwords.

I think it's someone mistakenly logging on to your account.  Can WH trace where the bet was laid and how it was paid for?  That should be a clue to something.

Meanwhile I suggest not using the account again but change the password to something nicely random.  And set up a new account if you want to continue to bet.
I don’t think the other account is an option tbh. Betting companies are quite strict on users only having one account. Mainly to prevent multiple signs up for new customer offers.

Agree on a password manager, wouldn't use LastPass though as it is both closed source and a premium model and to get the best out of it you will have to pay a yearly subscription. Use an open source one like Bitwarden which for most personal use across multiple devices will be free.

This happened on my account a few weeks ago, went into my open bets and noticed there was half a dozen horse racing bets (I only ever bet on football) tried cashing out on them but same as you would not go through, I presumed it was just a glitch in there system though it kept me entertained for a while checking if the horses had won or not lol.
