I'm investigating the value in this account, where you get 3% back on water, 2% on energy and 1% on Santander mortgages, council tax, paid-for TV and mobile, home phone and broadband bills.
If I pay ~£50 a month on water (3% = £1.50), ~£150 a month on energy at the moment(!) (2% = £3) and maybe £180 on council tax, mobile and broadband (1% = £1.80) this means that I'd get £6.30 a month minus the fee of £2 = £4.30 a month from this account.
This means it probably isn't a good option for me, right?

Why is it not a good option if you would make £4.30 a month, £51.60 a year extra?0

Plus you can get cashback retailer offers. May not be useful to you. Spar being my fave.(5% /7%/10% offers crop up quite a lot. I spend a fair bit on Amazon. I buy up to £300 of amazon top up from Spar using my card..... when it's the 10% offer on I get £30 back from Santanderslhqoue said:I'm investigating the value in this account, where you get 3% back on water, 2% on energy and 1% on Santander mortgages, council tax, paid-for TV and mobile, home phone and broadband bills.

And just to complete the package there is the regular saver at 2.50% fixed for up to £250 per month for 12 months.
And if you are quick a switch bonus of £160 and double energy cashback in October and November up to £10 per month.

Is there a place you can see the current retailer offers?0

The retailer offers seem to only be of use if you actually spend with your Santander debit or credit card. I do most of my spending with a non-Santander cashback credit card, so don't see many useful offers. Over 11 years, I have made the princely sum of £104.44 from the Santander retailer offers, with £45 coming from one single offer (life insurance). So less than a tenner a year. If you want a chance of more, you need to pay with the Santander cards.HumberFlyer said:Plus you can get cashback retailer offers. May not be useful to you. I frequently don't use my 10% cashback from Spar as don't shop there, however, that gift card trick looks good. Has it ever failed to work for you?HumberFlyer said:

Done it 5 or 6 times now.... no prob'.... I went in once, paid £300 for the top up and the girl couldn't get it to work. She said she would have to give me the money back, but would have to be cash and not back on the card.... strange. I ok'd it. £300 as a spend on my card.... £30 cashback and I hadn't bought anything.... nicewiseonesomeofthetime said:

I never once had an offer for Spar. Occasionally one for Morrisons but I don’t shop there. Might need to have a look into the gift card trick if Morrison ever pop up again.
My current offers, all of zero interest to me:
