I am not wanting to spend hundreds and am not an audio snob who would pick apart anything under the top of the range. Just after something which would improve the sound from my LG TV
Which is best for a very similar price?

It doesn't look like you are going to get much from an LG sound bar that's under £100.
Both models you refer to have a poor rating from Which? magazine - 41% and 50% respectively.
If you can up your budget a little the LGSJ3 (65%) at around £98 and the LGSJ2 (67%) at around £119 are both said by Which?to offer decent sound quality for the money.1 -

According to your TV model it has pretty decent sound in comparison to the 2 soundbars you are going for.1

You need the soundbar and TV to be connected via HDMI ARC (the sockets at both ends should be marked as such) to allow the TV (remote) to control volume & standby. All but the cheapest soundbars/TVs should have this connectivity.1

If you are tight on budget consider this .....https://www.amazon.co.uk/Creative-Subwoofer-Bluetooth-Mountable-Adjustable/dp/B08HM77MSH/?
A friend bought one for his sons room and we were impressed with what you got for your money.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

I have a Samsung soundbar connected to
fire stick(HDMI)
Panasonic TV(HDMI ARC).
It goes into standby when turning off with either remote.
TV and fire stick remote can control the volume.
I think the key support needed is CEC.1
