Asked for 'Completion Statement' by conveyancer (laundering checks)- does the seller get one?

As part of money laundering checks, I'm being asked for (amongst other things) by my conveyancer's paralegal, a 'completions statement'.

Does a seller actually get one after a house sale? From what I've read scanning a few websites... it's the buyer who receives one, not the seller (me)…

My sister does have all the paperwork  in her possession but she lives some distance away, we're both super busy with work, and more importantly she finds it upsetting having to go through the docs from a sad time in our lives again and again.

I'm crossing my fingers a fellow forum user can perhaps save me more time researching whether it's a reasonable document to ask for for someone in my situation [seller] (i.e. is my sister likely to have this in the docs form the sale)  or if the paralegal employed by our conveyancer has made another erroneous request.
I've already spend a lot of time researching her mistakes so I am able to respectfully and competently articulate them to her, otherwise she seems to dig her heels in and insist I'm wrong and the process stalls.

Situation in  brief:

  • Parents passed away, 4 siblings inherited, sold and split the proceeds of the family home.
  • I am currently buying a property, and at the stage of exchanging contracts & about to pay the 10% exchange deposit.
  • My share of the inheritance form the house sale is being used as deposit and is therefore subject to anti laundering checks.
  • Our conveyancers paralegal is inexperienced, has already requested docs in error, and somewhat difficult to deal with, being reluctant to admit when she's wrong.
  • I'd love to know if anyone knows whether or not we should have had the requested  'completions statement' after the sale of the family home, that would be super helpful!

Yes, you get a completion statement detailing the money you got, the fees you paid.

Yes it's totally reasonable, and you will always receive a completion statement on a sale confirming how the sale proceeds have been broken down.

Chalk this one up as the Paralegal being in the right.

Actually the completion statement would be sent to the executor - what is more appropriate would be estate accounts which show your inheritance (or maybe they already have that and it is the source of the money in the estate accounts that they are asking about )

I think @Flugelhorn is right here.
It's probably a final statement of account from when your parents' estate was finalised and split. It's probably just the wrong description used by a junior member of staff.
May you find your sister soon Helli.
    Sleep well.

    Agreed.

When I was executor for my late sister’s estate in 2018, each time I made a distribution to the 2 adult children beneficiaries, I sent them email showing amount and copy of the estate bank statement showing the bank transfer. I also let them have copy of the property completion statement when I distributed those funds.

One sibling had to produce these as evidence of source of funds for her house purchase. Nothing unusual, just AML checks.
