Car rental refused for having an EU license

    But he indicates he is a UK resident so the licence address and residence address do not agree. but as I have already said it does not matter. Hertz have their rules (and also insure you ) so they decide the terms just as the hire company my son used on his visits to the UK would only hire him an automatic even though he had both a UK and California Licence.
    Going back a few years Hertz Leasing would not allow you to drive beyond Calais in your company car. They insisted on putting you in one of their Left hand drive cars
    Strange rule, if he showed them a full UK manual licence. They wouldn't know he had a US licence.

    Not really - whilst he had a full UK licence his permanent address at that time was in the USA - The address on his UK licence was also his business address in the UK

    Not really - whilst he had a full UK licence his permanent address at that time was in the USA - The address on his UK licence was also his business address in the UK

    With a UK address why bother giving a US address? Surely he was a British National with an address here.
