How can I remove my original house price from public view?

    Trakky14, I have my own personal rights too and don't have to declare everything!  That's all it is. 

    From experience, had to deal with some perspective buyers who are just property developers trying to get a fast buck and start comparing prices like it's a lottery number game. I guess, they will have all the property data anyway.
    Property development is a racket and the sharks come out... yes they want to know numbers so to have everything for knock down price, only to sell it for a huge profit.  Selling a property has changed enormously, now it is full of buying to let buyers or 'vetted' buyers who never had the money upfront but still go through the buying process and then fall out of buying 6 months down the line!

    Why would it matter what property developers want to pay? Just sell it for what's it worth to you. Of course it may not sell for that price but it would do the same job as magically hiding the previously sold for price 
    An answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......

    I remember being in my drive after I'd sold, and a couple I'd never seen before stopped to tell me they'd been 'tracking' my house price reductions on a website.  Such a horrible conversation, I felt very upset.  Property snake, or similar.

    I remember being in my drive after I'd sold, and a couple I'd never seen before stopped to tell me they'd been 'tracking' my house price reductions on a website.  Such a horrible conversation, I felt very upset.  Property snake, or similar.  
    Tbf, anyone who is a serious buyer who watches Rightmove daily can tell you which houses have been dropped and by how much and can tell if they have been dropped more than once.

    What you paid is irrelevant. How your price today compares to similar properties for sale is all that matters. 

    I’ve seen ones for sale for significantly more than the owner paid not long ago which have been (1) stupidly overpriced now so I haven’t bothered viewing, or (2) decent price so the owner got a bargain when they bought for some reason - good for them.

    Anyone who is a serious buyer has the PatMa (or similar) browser extension installed which tells them the history of the sale.

    To add....

    We bought ours just 2 years ago for £260. It was on the market for £330.

    After 27 viewings, one potential purchaser offered us £300 with the comment "Well, you've already made £40k in 2 years, so we're offering you a good deal"

    It's dumb. We're moving sideways-ish to another part of the country. WIthout getting full asking price, we couldn't afford to buy somewhere similar elsewhere.

    Never heard of property snake but loads of people use things like propertylog etc. to track prices, it is just part of the digital age.

    People can go back and check what similar properties sold for a few years ago anyway, so unless the house is totally unique hiding the price is pretty pointless.
