Check car hire prices for holidays - they’ve dropped

Booked car hire in April for holiday in Italy at the end of August this year. Prices were extortionate but we had no choice but to pay as we need a car. Paid £1005 to hire a VW golf for 2 weeks.  Checked prices last weekend and they had dropped significantly, so cancelled original booking and rebooked with same company for same dates and same car.  New price £327, a whopping saving of £678
