Children can be quite forgiving (especially the very young, like mine! :D ) if you give them the type of chocolate they like. Speaking of which, you were lucky to get the Lindt type as late as you did - there were reports of everywhere only having the large Creme Eggs type left.

Maybe you could practice (do trials!) making eggs and be an expert by next year's Easter... or maybe,... not! :D

That strange chocolate guy on tv tonight again, y'know the non-Willy Wonka guy... 9pm C4... wonder what meal he'll be putting chocolate on tonight?:rotfl:

Oh they're not young - and they love the Lindt bunnies and they knew I had tried, so that was the main thing. :D

    True. Can't say fairer...

I think you're right tho', chocolate shapes are a lot easier - and I think that is the route I will be taking for any birthdays that crop up - no 'joiny-joiny' technique for me! :D ... unless I do lots of trials first! :D

Joiny joiny was fine with the tiny solid eggs, that heated baking tray worked fine! But it was the layers, I didn't add enough choccie, especially the edges. Will have another go next year. :D

I did notice on the BBC homemade chocolate recipe (link above) it said preparation time "over 2 hours" - I think I may have skimped a bit...:D

I'm almost tempted to try again with the eggs doing it all properly  Tempering and everything! (I know, I know...) - BUT I've had my fill of chocolate for a while so maybe sometime in the future - and then I'll revive this thread (if needed of course! ;) ) and tell you of my success! :j
BUT I could also do with losing a few pounds (too much chocolate making :D ) so maybe not just yet!

Well I wanted to lose a stone on new years day and I am only 4 1/2 pounds away from target! Not bad seeing I have been up to my ears in chocolate in Feb and March. :D

I am going to have to think of things to make out of tempered chocolate, now I am really getting the hang of it. :-P
