Hi, Ive tried to find similar paost but to no avail..
I bought an airbed for £70 with an inbuilt pump which is plugged in (so i assume this is classed as an electrical item). I've used this twice since i purchased it in June '21 (14 months ago) for camping. Once in Apr-22 and once this weekend when it continually went flat. I wouldnt find any punctures so think its the valve. I went onto live chat with Argos and having found my transaction on the system, they said to go to the store to get a refund. Once at ehe store refused saying that it was out of its 12 month warranty. I argued that it wasn't reasonable that a product should fail after 14 months AND that Id been told to get a refund buy their online team who had full view of when it was purchased. They went into the backoffice to speak to the manager who refused the refund or a swap. I hadnt done any research prior to this as I assumed a refund was going to be issued. So...is my product covered under
1) the EU act of 2 years (which is understand is UK law) if its electrical and
2) Is it covered under The Consumer Rights Act 2015 and is it reasonable to assume it should last longer than 14 months.
Any advice would be appreciated... Im happy to go back in with more background info and fight my corner if need be
Thanks

You need to prove, somehow, that it is actually the valve that has failed and you have not punctured the airbed.
A simple soapy water test should suffice.
Then you may well have a case for a repair or replacement.0 -

Thanks1) The EU 2 year rule in the UK is a myth - https://blog.moneysavingexpert.com/2010/12/the-eu-goods-must-last-a-minimum-two-years-rule-is-a-myth2) It is indeed, however as it's over six months old, the onus is on you to prove it was inherently faulty when purchased. This can be done by getting it inspected and a report. If this is the case, Argos will have to repair, replace or refund. They get to chose the most cost effecient option. If they refund, they can deduct for the 14 months use you have had.
