so confused about which sickness benefits are best for each situation
what if if someone can’t work due to being so ill all the time and can’t even perform the most basic tasks due to their conditions
would they apply for ESA or PIP and attendance allowance?

ESA is based on capability for work.
New claims can only be for New-Style ESA which is only payable if people have the relevant National Insurance contributions in the last two complete tax years. If someone can't qualify for payments, they will have to claim UC which is means-tested, and includes an element that mirrors ESA provision.
PIP is based on ability to do daily activities, not means-tested or contributions-based.
AA is based on care needs and is only for pension-aged people.

Is this about yourself or someone else? Last week you posted a similar question and you were given advice. See thread. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6377351/which-sickness-benefits#latestIn a thread last month you were asking about a credit credit for work for yourself and now you're saying you can't do the most basic tasks.

Indeed but members gave advice on your other thread. I don't understand the need for another thread asking the same questions.

[I think the assumption you were talking about yourself in this thread as well as the other was because you used almost identical wording. I hadn't made the connection when I commented but if this thread is for someone else with different circumstances it would be useful to say what those circumstances are in order for advice to be better tailored.]2
