You will need to provide some for information about the context.
If in work you will be entitled to occupational and/or SSP employer.
Unless, excluded by circumstances, possibly claiming Universal Credit but based on your household finances.
Possibly new style ESA if not eligible for SSP.
Depending on what your health has your ability on to impact you possibly PIP.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

You can claim SSP from your employer by sending a fit notes. You can then report a change of circumstances on your journal for UC and send in a fit nnote within 7 days. After day 29 you should be referred for a work capability assessment. You must continue to send those fit notes without any gaps until a decision is made on your work capability assessment. Details here. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/universal-credit-if-you-have-a-disability-or-health-condition-quick-guide/universal-credit-if-you-have-a-disability-or-health-condition
You can't claim New style ESA whilst receiving SSP. 3 months before the SSP ends you can make a claim for New style ESA, if you've paid the correct amount of NI contributions in tax years April 2019 to March 2021.
If you claim both ESA and UC together, there's no financial gain because the ESA is deducted in full from any UC entitlement.
PIP is completely different and is nothing to do with UC or ESA. More details here for PIP. https://pipinfo.net/#activities

The OP says they have been 'out of work' for 6 months rather than 'off sick' so it may be that there won't be any entitlement to SSP.

If the OP could clarify whether or not they are currently employed, and if not when employment ended, that it would be helpful.
