Separate from the report your lost/stolen card this option appears under a section called 'Change your card'. Does the card number change or is the replacement an identical number? If so is the CIV also the same?

Replacement card, all details remain the same, may be a new CCV number.

    New card, all new details.

PIN stays the same, unless you request a new one.

In my experience any time you ask Barclaycard for a new card (instead of the automatic replacement of expired card) you get the changed card number

It is not conflicting, I was clarifying as the first message was “obviously” confusing:

when they replace your expired card, automatically, the expiration date and CCV will change, card number stays the same.

however, if it is the customer that ask for a new card (lost, stolen, damaged, etc), you do get new card number.

I had the same Barclaycard card number from 1999 to 2010 when I lost my first card and had to ask for a replacement. Since then I keep asking for early replacements as the cards peel off, crack etc and always get new numbered cards

Best answer is to contact them & ask.
But if card is damaged it needs replacing anyway & if it does or does not have the same number makes no difference. Also do not forget the expiry date.

Any reason why you want the same CVV?

A lost stolen card replacement will have a partial new number for   obvious   reasons.

I recently requested a replacement card from them because contactless was not working on my newly received card.
I used the damaged card replacement request.
The new card is the same number as the one it is replacing.

If you still have the old card, then the new card will be the same number.

The confusing thing here is that the 3 digit code has been referred to as a CIV, CCV and CVV all in the same thread!

This is different from my experience and I wonder if it is because I have always called in and not done the online form
