The price will increase even more as the Russian customers enter the remaining supply market.1

Prices will rocket, there will need to be planned blackouts or usage restrictions for energy across Europe maybe not the UK.

It is certainly a worrying thought and could happen. I'm taking steps to insulate my home so I can use less or none at all if it comes down to it.
My neighbour is taking out his (mostly unused) gas fire and putting a wood burner in, was originally a coal fire but central heating fitted back in the 60's.
Besides that its prepare for the worst and hope for the best.1 -
Norway has said that it is likely to restrict electricity exports to the UK in the coming months. If we don’t get electricity, then we need more gas to generate electricity. My guess is that there will be periods when gas demand exceeds supply.1

Norway may well choose to send more gas to the EU, it would depend on the duration of the current contracts.
We are not 'OK', because we have less gas storage capacity than anywhere else in Europe. Countries like Poland saw this coming and ramped up their storage, and are now trying to fill it. We have done precisely nothing.
Let's hope it's a mild winter. If not, there will be phased cut-offs to industry (3 day weeks, probably) to leave adequate domestic supply. No free lunch, and no free laptop2 -

Everyone should realised that the situation could be much worse. Its only the Covid lockdowns in China suppressing Chinese demand that has left us with the gas we do have.
Roll on next year.

The UK has 9 Twh gas storage (100% full)
Germany has 185 Twh gas storage (75% full)
We don't have gas storage anymore. We sold our massive gas storage reservoir to Norway (Equinor ltd) who are testing hydrogen storage at it now.
George Osborne put a 80% "windfall" tax on North Sea gas exploration to drop petrol prices a few pence - very popular at the time. Most new supply got canned as it was no longer profitable. Shell are planning to re-open 2 gar fields that will add 10% but this will take a few years1 -
There are rumours that BG/Centrica could reopen the Rough field for storage, but they want a govt bung of several billion £ to make it worth their while. No free lunch, and no free laptop1
