Wizzair inbound cancellation

Options
Due to fly CWL - TFS on 26/8 back 23/9
inbound flight cancelled 10/8 (more than 2 wks notice - no section 261 compo). Tried to retain outbound but system would not allow. So cancelled whole booking which cost £283 BUT been given Wiz credit of £93 only which the system says can’t be cashed! I’ve submitted a claim for £283 on their website. Meanwhile been sent a pdf invoice for -£33 credit. None of the amounts make sense in relation to flight breakdown of costs on original booking. All advice & input welcomed please!

Can you give a breakdown of what the original invoice says?

We can then run through the full numbers for you.

    CWL - TFS £23.49 x 2 = £46.98
    TFS - CEL £81.49 x 2 = £162.98
    Admin fee                        £30.00
    Seat fee                           £43.00
    Total                                £282.96
When you say ‘we can run thru the full numbers’, who exactly are you?

I wanted to look to see if there was anything non-refundable there. In this case there isn't.

You will need to fill in the form here. https://wizzair.com/en-gb/information-and-services/compliments-and-complaints/

Alternatively, you can call the telephone number for existing bookings, which is 0330 977 0444 as stated on the website clearly here. https://wizzair.com/en-gb/information-and-services/contact/contact-us.

Thanks CKalvashi for your positive input & your experience or qualification for affirming that the whole cost is refundable is exactly what? S as indicated in my original post I have already submitted a claim form. I decided against calling the call centre. At £1.45 per min they’re having a laugh as they say! Eventually I hope to claim for additional costs arising from having to travel, stay overnight & park in Bristol airport. But I shan’t hold my breath on that. Thanks again 🙏🙏

The 0330 number CKhalvashi provided comes out of the normal credit on your phone doesn't it - as if you are calling a UK geographic number?

As Martin has stated, this is an 0330 phone number, not an 090.

The 090 phone number is £1.45/minute for new bookings. The 0330 phone number is a local rate telephone number, the same as calling your home/neighbour. Click further down for 'existing bookings' to find this.

Well thanks both for pointing out the 0330 telno. I’ve just wasted 45 mins (not bad really?) of my life being fobbed off by a very personable CSR in reasonable English. It seems the system identified my total cancellation as ‘voluntary’ and auto-rejected my request for cash refund. So I’ve now raised a second claim including the additional costs for flying from Bristol! One can but hope?

You have no entitlement to costs, but should have an entitlement to either the full money back or at least one sector (at your choice), flying the other ex-BRS.

In any event, this cancellation is not voluntary.

Thanks, I’ll post an update if/when it’s all sorted out. I shan’t be giving up any time though!
