Octopus have two tariffs under the same name

Thank you, all makes sense to me now.The reason why some will see an E7 and others see a single rate is your meter profile which is part of your MPAN...That includes if your meter is set for E7, this dates back to before smart meters when you needed a specific E7 meter to be on an E7 tariff. It is largely redundant once you have a smart meter as it can be set and changed without needing to physically alter the meter, but it remains as part of your MPAN and is used by the system when offering you alternative tariffs...

If I try that, I don't get a quote, but a page telling me it is unlikely to be worth switching suppliers at the moment and if you really really want to, phone this number and speak to us.CanNeverThinkOfAUsername said:If you visit this link: octopus.energy/tariffs/ and pop in your postcode you will see a list of tariffs (don't click get a quote, just put your postcode in). Every tariff has a single rate with one rate, a E7 rate for a Night and Day tariff, plus a rate for gas too, it all depends on what meter(s) the customer has installed.
From my understanding this is the same for all suppliers, and all tariffs.
I never even get as far as a place to enter your postcode.0 -
Don't hit the 'quote' button, the postcode field is at the bottom of that page...ProDave said:

Here

Type your postcode, don't press anything, let it load the tariffs. Then you can use the filters once it's all loaded.0 -
Ah I get it now.
Note, those are ALL fixed rate tariffs which I don't believe are capped. They appear to only be offering those new customers.
Is that a sign of just how high the rates would be NOW if it were not for the cap?0 -
They should also be showing the standard variable (Flexible Octopus) and other variable tariffs such as Tracker and Agile. Maybe check you didn't accidentally have the 'fixed' filter (or didn't scroll far enough? For me I have to scroll to the bottom, then it loads more).ProDave said:Ah I get it now.

Note that they are not necessarily accepting new customers on all of these tariffs, it's mostly just for information - current Octopus customers might be able to switch to some of them.0
