Wow, you are very lucky to have only 15p standing charge! Mine is almost 36p and the monitor jumps to 40p every day at 1am. Can I ask which company are you with? Could I switch to yours?

Hi. It is Logicor Energy. My tariff is ending this month, so will be moving to the standard rates, I don't think they will accept applications now.Energy888 said:Wow, you are very lucky to have only 15p standing charge! It is worth remembering that the IHD is just a display that connects via a Home Area Network to the communications hub which (usually) sits atop the electricity smart meter. The IHD takes tariff information from the electricity meter and the gas proxy meter built into the communications hub. The gas proxy meter is needed because the gas meter is not in permanent contact with the communications hub which saves battery life.Suppliers are responsible for updating tariff information as and when the tariff or supplier changes. If they are slow to update tariff information, then what is shown on the IHD in the way of cost will be wrong: GIGO.
The gas proxy meter’s main role is to take the volume of gas used and covert it from cubic metres to kWh. To do this, it uses a fixed calorific value. As actual billing is based on the average calorific value of the gas supplied during the billing period, the cost of gas used as shown on the IHD will invariably not match your actual billing statement.
In sum, the IHD’s information is advisory only.0
