You want a headed statement to prove you have this account, but seem to only be able to get unheaded ones. Which implies you're not downloading statements, you're downloading raw lists of transactions. Statements will be pdfs with all the info you want.

May be the account is so new that no statement exists yet?
That's what I said two days ago !

    I also have a FlexDirect account. I'm 72.

I receive monthly emails advising that my bank statement is ready to view. All genuine emails from Nationwide have my postcode at the top and sometimes also at the bottom, something they specified when I opened the account and something I always check.

Instructions for accessing statements are as per RacingDriver's comments above.

Then as per The_Fat_Controller's instructions, also above - when you click on the PDF version of the required statement, your name and all the bank details should be there. All my details are.

So far, I'm really happy with my FlexDirect account. For a quick check I have the banking app and then if I want more detail I just login to the main account. I don't feel anonymous or invisible, although I am aware that sometimes older people can be treated that way.
Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Reading the Daily Mail you'd probably get that impression, it's designed to permanently stir up outrage and keep people voting right wing. In reality ONE family were allegedly told something by a staff member according to the single account of one person who decided to sell the story to the the Sun for an article with no mention of it being anything a single opinion - note nothing from the firm saying it was banned. Giving people a bit of respect like not calling them fat as a description is hardly the world going mad, though given the history of which side in WW2 that paper supported it's not surprising.
All the left-wing papers are there for the same reason.

As someone else said, you're kissing the other side of the same backside.

Until people wake up and actually vote for candidates that represent them, and want to represent them, rather than vague ideologies, this is what you'll get.

If you're blaming the "right" for this, you're part of the problem. The problem isn't left or right, it's the rotten system we've allowed to evolve through apathy and divisive politics.

    .
Lots of people already vote for the candidates that represent them. However, our FPTP system, and subsequently the Party Whips, deprive many of them of their voice.

Anyway, this is now way off topic…..
  • IN BRIEF - Two other organisations require HEADED PAPER documentary proof with full account name and details  (freely provided by several previous and current banks, but not Nationwide)
A month after they started the SWITCH process, I've just received an email advising that the first statement is a PDF download

FINALLY there's evidence, but STILL NOT ON ORIGINAL PAPER, only as download.  There's STILL no original documentation from Nationwide, as requested by other organisations (and for reasons unknown I/we are untraceable via whatever routes financial  organisations use despite 40+ years of joint banking).

Reason for the OP was - until other organisations accept the change, our savings are inaccessible.

Find it odd that no-one else challenges this extraordinary banking procedure (no account ownership evidence for a month) but perhaps we are unique in nominating a joint account for individual ISA etc accounts elsewhere.

Await formal response from Nationwide (letter sent last week)

SUBJECT CLOSED FOR NOW - thanks for your attention.

The FlexDirect is an online-only account. Not surprisingly, you just get an online statement for it.

It's ever so easy to open other types of Nationwide accounts if you absolutely have to have a Nationwide current account statement through the post. You are allowed up to 4 Nationwide current accounts.

Obvs, as with the FlexDirect, you will have to wait for your first statement for other accounts until Nationwide produce it. This is not unusual, it will be the same at most other banks, too. The only one I am aware of that lets you produce a statement on demand is Starling Bank but they won't send you a paper one in the post either.

  • I think you need to tell the "other organisations" to get into this century !
