NATIONWIDE - Why are we anonymous ?

I'm 80, a veteran of both personal and online joint accounts, and (until now) have had no identity problems.
I used SWITCH (7 day service) to request transfer of 6 year-old First Direct JOINT account to a Nationwide JOINT account.
Due to unspecified id problem, Nationwide advised a delay (eventually took 15 days) but account was usable on 21st when I funded/tested it. Both First Direct and Nationwide advised all data and funds transferred 29th, that account closed.
The Nationwide FlexDirect is online only. We received step-by-step letters, individually addressed, but none identified the account by name nor codes. The codes eventually appeared on the two debit cards, each named but same codes.
CRUCIALLY - the downloadable online statement doesn't identify Nationwide as the bank, nor our account name - the only header is the sort code and account no. (in VERY large characters).
I called them about it on 22nd July - they couldn't answer, I subsequently got an email thanking me for input but nothing more.
THE LACK OF BANK and ACCOUNT IDENTITY CAUSES MAJOR PROBLEMS ELSEWHERE. (We have other joint and individual ISA/s investments in UK).
1/ Seems that despite being UK born and bred, house-owners, married, both on the voters list 40+ years, Experion rating 900+ (and with multiple bank accounts) we are "unknown" to whatever database the financial fraternity uses (first indication, the SWITCH delay - worse to come - other institutions mention this too.
2/ Most ISA's and other investment companies need "nominated" bank details for payments in or out, most evidenced with written headed statements.
NATIONWIDE online FlexAccount cannot provide this. Submission of Nationwide's documentation has resulted in outright refusal and request for correct data (which doesn't exist).
3/ Because the nominated account no longer exists (First Direct is closed) there's no access to invested funds in case of emergency.
FlexAccount is open to everyone, surely this lack of even basic bank and account identity on statements affects other customers too ?
Is it actually (banking law) legal to fail to identify statements with bank name ? Another problem - if I die, how does my executor deal with IHT ? It's a joint account (no IHT due) but there's no documentary evidence of true title, could so easily be charged 40% IHT.
PS Query to Nationwide was 22nd July, acknowledged but no actual reply as of 12th August.

My Nationwide FlexDirect online statements have the Nationwide logo and other identifying information.
To access statements online:- Go to website, then log into the Internet Bank
- Select the Current Account you’d like to view the statement for
- Select ‘Previous statements’ from the menu on the left, then the statement you’d like to see
I do not think statements are available via the mobile banking app, you need to use the full Internet Bank.3 -
I have just downloaded my latest statement for my Nationwide Flex Direct account, it is a 6 page PDF.
It has ALL the details you seem to be missing.
You need to actively download the PDF from this page of online banking.

@Silvabod could it simply just be that your first statement for the account has not actually been produced and therefore not yet showing on the page which I have posted ?
You may get a nice surprise on the 21st or 29th !

The PDFs are available on a FlexDirect as above.
Sounds like the OP has downloaded the data intended for spreadsheets or financial planning programmes. For future reference, the FlexAccount is a different current account with paper statements and branch access.1 -

Unfortunately your 900+ credit "score" is utterly worthless as no-one but you ever sees it, so long as you are recorded on the 3 CRAs (TransUnion, Equifax and Experian) then firms will be able to search and identify you, there is no hidden database1

Reading the Daily Mail you'd probably get that impression, it's designed to permanently stir up outrage and keep people voting right wing. In reality ONE family were allegedly told something by a staff member according to the single account of one person who decided to sell the story to the the Sun for an article with no mention of it being anything a single opinion - note nothing from the firm saying it was banned. Giving people a bit of respect like not calling them fat as a description is hardly the world going mad, though given the history of which side in WW2 that paper supported it's not surprising.Olinda99 said:6 -
I do think the world is going bonkers at times.
I am fat, as agreed by the ultrasound technician's report this week, I was a "Challenging study" LOL.
I was a Controller, albeit of the Air Traffic variety.
@Silvabod apologies for the thread drift, hope you find a PDF to download soon !4 -
Not sure I understand your problem. The switch was delayed - but it did happen successfully. So that's fine.
You have access to the new account. You have debit cards. So that's fine. You can login. You can download information. So you know the sortcode and account number - it will be there on your login and on your debit cards. So that's all fine too.You want a headed statement to prove you have this account, but seem to only be able to get unheaded ones. Which implies you're not downloading statements, you're downloading raw lists of transactions. Statements will be pdfs with all the info you want. There's no evidence in your post, as far as I can see, that Nationwide have done anything wrong. It looks like you're just not downloading the right thing.2 -
May be the account is so new that no statement exists yet?Zanderman said:You want a headed statement to prove you have this account, but seem to only be able to get unheaded ones.
