I've just bitten the bullet and signed for V.18 as we are in our really low consumption part of the year, the cost increase works out at around £75 for August and September. however as October looms and our consumption starts to rise we should be well placed if the cap is anywhere a cap of around 60p/kw . In fact we'll be quids in as we use around 70% of our leccy between November and April
TBH I should have gone for V.17 (doing the sums it would still have only cost less than £100 but I would have saved over £250 compared with V.18 over the winter months) but was hoping that something would get sorted out by then.
Our DD has gone up from £190 to just under £300 which TBH is a bit low based on our average annual consumption but we've been saving a bit over the past couple of months to cover it.
Its gonna be a tough winter for a lot of peopleNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
I was checking out the business rate fixes at the moment and you're looking at almost 99p for electricity and 30p a unit for gas. I have no idea how businesses are coping.0
