Is it work fixing on the E.ON Next Online v18 tarrif before the new price cap is announced
I am currently on the EON.Next NextFlex tarrif:
Gas - 7.34p (27.22p SC)
Electricity 29.24p (37.92p SC)
Ofgem will announce a change to the price cap on the 26th August and the cap will rise in October and then again in January 2023.
I’m wondering if I should fix now to their Next Online v18 which is
Gas - 13.33p (27.22p SC)
Electricity - 54.01p (37.92 SC).
I spoke to EON Next and they said prices will keep changing all the time and the fix kicks in the moment you sign up - so you can't defer it until end of September when the old rate ends, you will be paying for it immediately.
My bills will go up from £153 per month to £265. The temptation is to leave it a little longer and closer to the new price cap date but then this fix may be withdrawn or end up being much higher at that point.
Signing up now means locking in the rate for 12 months but I would still be paying a much higher rate between now and when the new price caps kicks in in October.
Any advice?

Can you still get V18, I thought that V19 was out?
If you can, afaik you will have 14 days of "cooling off" which will get you very close to the 26th of August when the October SVT rates will be announced.1 -

Yikes! I've gone for it. 14 days cooling off and zero exit fees made it a bit of a bit of a no brainer.0

Blimey! Is it me or had the deal just gone? I took it last night and today I went into my portal and it says ' You can't get a quote online'. Was that because I took the deal or because the deal no longer exists?0

I've gone as well - not sure whether to speak to Eon Next or not.
Based on my consumption - next 12 months will be £4232, I've got a £386 credit so my working is that the DD should be £354 not £386 which they are quoting me - I know it's only £33 but with a DD that size every reduction counts!1 -
We have warned people since Monday to go for an "interesting" fix now and not wait until it is gone. You always have the cool off so there was no risk at all taking it and than have a think.
I am very surprised the good Online V18 lasted this long, especially as the 1 Year V18 was already replaced by the V19 two days ago.
You can try to speak with them, but it is likely you missed the opportunity.
Edit
Yesterday evening you posted that you took the fix.

SO why would you want to speak to them now?1 -
Spoke to an advisor at EoN this morning and they said they didn’t think the V18 would be around for much longer, I’d signed up online last night and then called to adjust the start date as the fixed price looks pretty reasonable given the bad forecast for 1st Oct and beyond. Just hoping for a mild winter now so my heating bill isn’t through the roof.0
