It's reckoned that around 60% pay up straight away. There are some 10 million tickets issued each year (including tickets placed on windscreens), so around 6 million motorists immediately handing £60 to companies set up primarily to penalise motorists. That's at least £360 million a year. Add to that those who eventually cough up after endless threats and intimidation, possibly taking that figure to (a conservative) half a billion pounds per annum.

At least your brother hasn't contributed to the ill-gotten pot!
