Water reading dates and billing query

Hi,

I've flagged this issue with my water company, but wondered if MSEs may be able to help.

At the beginning of July I saw our water meters including mine being manually read by their employee. I logged on recently and noted the billing date is for the end of July.

My concern is I am being charged for a usage reading on X date and standing charge for up to two weeks after - is that normal?

I do have the option of submitting a reasing which may be the best approach.
