Paragraphs and line breaks

Options
Am I the only one who finds it frustrating that line breaks are doubled up when you submit a post? The editor looks like a WYSIWYG editor, yet it isn't. If you enter two newlines to start a paragraph, it results in a huge space in the final post. If you leave a single line break, it turns into a new paragraph with spacing above. I have discovered a true line break is possible using:
Shift-Enter.

I would personally prefer it if it was one line break for a line break and two for a paragraph break, but if not, please could the editor be made to reflect how the post will actually appear? Even if I remember only to press Enter once for a new paragraph, it means proofreading the post is much less convenient as the paragraphs are all squashed together. I usually delete the extra newlines before posting - if I remember. (This time I'm deliberately leaving it in!)

I used to get that (a long time ago) but haven't for months.

    What browser are you using?

(As you can see, my reply has appeared exactly as I created it).

    The latest Firefox.

So not exactly anything non-standard. (Or perhaps using Firefox on a PC is considered out-of-the-ordinary these days.)

It looks like it is just you (and maybe a few others) rather than it being a generic issue.

Perhaps it is something Firefox is doing with this forum software?

(As you can see, my reply using the latest version of Chrome doesn't suffer the same issue).
