Would it be beyond the realms of possibility that they tell the defendant they have discontinued yet intentionally carry on to court and win on "non-appearance" ?  It seems the type of dirty trick these lowlifes play

They could... however at any subsequent set-aside, it could be evidenced and the PPC would be in for a hammering by the court for unreasonable behaviour.

No,  they wouldn't risk it.

So e mail today notice of discontinued claim. Not even submitted the statement yet. This is after lots of e mails and phone calls in the last week begging us to contact them. 

I will say they sent an e mail to the court but the attachment they sent is not filled in, not sure if this matters or is a ploy from them but if it's gone to the court that should be it hopefully.

Thank you all for the support. I would like to try and help people on here if I can, I know 2 popele going through this and keep telling them to not worry as it will work out in the end if they follow the process.
