Need a new handset with WiFi calling & SMS

The cheapest option in the first instance would be to order a Lebara SIM for 1p and try it in your phones.

Just did a test on my A52s. Swapped in 3 PAYG (data reward), forced it to use wi-fi calling and have sent/received SMS. Enhanced SMS/messaging is turned off. Think that 3 services are the same across PAYG/PAYM.
Plenty of deals around for that handset + 3 PAYM for your budget, buying from 3 would give more reassurance that it would work with their services.1 -
if you use a Windows PC/laptop have you tried using MS phone link with it & your phone?
O2 support Wifi calling & SMS.1 -
O2 Classic PAYG supports SMS but not WiFi calling.

afaik OP hasn't stipulated PAYG, in fact they mentioned monthly contracts.
The O2 network supports both but I don't think that the MVNOs that use it (e.g. Tesco, Giffgaff) offer it - I guess it's a differentiator between the MVNOs & the network's own-branded users.0 -
That seems to be handset dependent, I've tried a Lebara sim and WiFi Calling with both calls and sms work in an iPhone and a OnePlus 7 Pro 5G but only works for calls in a Xiaomi Poco F3.ishinnatelleth said:ok after contacting Lebara it seems they also only support wifi calling, not sms
Looking on the Vodafone site and they have separate (confusing) lists for Wifi Calling and WiFi Calling and SMS over WiFi

My wife and I are both on O2 and have wifi calling plus sms but in both instances we had to contact their help desk and get them to enable the feature. It wasn't a problem (mine was done in store and my wifes over the phone) but you need to be aware of the fact.BUFF said:afaik OP hasn't stipulated PAYG, in fact they mentioned monthly contracts.

I have a Samsung galaxy s10 and my wife has the S10e.
I also had no problems when I was on Three and only switched because of the EU roaming charge.0
