Bendy, what do you make of the bodged junction box behind your green arrow? The CH motorised valve is new, while the DHW valve is older and probably original. I can't quite follow the wires, but I am guessing that whoever replaced the CH valve simply cut and joined the wires rather than taking them down to the main control box.1

I suspect you are right.No idea which valve it's for, tho'. Do you reckon one is newer, or are they just 'different'?!I guess if the box they are in conforms to regs - no idea what these are - then there isn't anything major wrong with doing that. But I'd personally rather have a pattress box mounted to the LH wall there, with the terminal strip safely inside it.But the wiring centre is just there below it! I wonder if it was done by a slightly nervous DIYer who opened the wiring centre and nearly fainted...?0
