PAYG for elderly - Lebara??

I'm trying to get an old fashioned Pay As You Go deal for my elderly mother.  She is never really going to use the mobile - just needs a number so she can open a savings account.  She just needs a SIM to put in an old phone of mine.  I got a Lebara SIM card but don't want a deal - should I just choose top up credit?  (She doesn't really want to pay £5 per month - more than she'll earn in interest from the savings account!)  Thanks
