    For private then would need to check what the contract stated.
    Note the following:

    This will not normally apply if:

    • the repair or restoration is a result of trauma
    I suppose the argument could be that the filling came out due to trauma, ie, the OP ate something that cause the filling to break.

    Eating is normal and accepted activity for teeth.

  • I suspect it will very much depend on why it has fallen out. If the tooth is starting to fracture and decay, then no filling is ever going to stay in but only the dentist will be able to advise.

    Depends what you eat. The majority of failed and broken fillings is down to breaking them on something eaten.
