BCS claims cost me my payday redress

I used BCS claims in late 2019 to see if they could claim back my payday redress.

Usual story, pestering calls and gave in & answered. Pleasantly surprised  to learn I could claim back as I was in a cycle of payday loans to pay more payday loans during a tough period. 20 month cycle.

I saw quickquid despite being in administration was accepting claims til Feb 21. Remember BCS had my sensitive details & consent to work on my behalf from around Nov 19.

They shut their inbound phone lines during the pandemic. And stopped replying to emails. This is still the case after 2 years. You can’t get to speak to them.

They then opened their lines in May 20 to grift for business for their new department claiming tax back of PPI.

I sent over 40 emails from feb 20 to date. 3 replies with no info other than to wait for the redress to complete.

It’s complete as of April 22.

I’ve tried to contact BCS to see what  on earth is going on. Because if my claim was refused they are notified and I’m told  I have 3 weeks to appeal right? No joy. I had no communication.

Everyone had been paid. I was in limbo. So what’s going on right?

I panicked, maybe a cheque went to my home I lived in 8 years ago, kept trying to contact them. Nothing.

I contacted cash euronet administrator who says no such claim was ever submitted. Nada. Nothing under my details or claim ref.

BCS claims had over 40 emails over 18 months to alert them something was very wrong with my claim before the portal closed.
They never submitted it. And they did nothing during this period where I could still claim myself.

The appear to have opened a tax claim grift dept which lines are open and unaffected by the pandemic and focused on that, leaving people like me out of pocket & previous time to claim themselves.

And they ignored customers desperate for information. And still do.

So I’ve contacted the claims management ombudsman.

Anyone else experience this with BCS claims? If you’ve not been paid or told your claim was not upheld  & given your 3 week opportunity to appeal it looks like they’ve done nothing.

I’m beyond angry.

Unfortunately, it's fairly standard for claims companies. You're relying on paying a disillusioned minimum wage worker to post off your form for you.

Unless there was any kind of SLA in the contract, you won't get anywhere.

Hopefully no one else has experienced this, as using these companies is never recommended.

All they would do is submit a standard complaint letter anyway, I would be mad too if it were me.

You always had the right to make a complaint for mis-selling anyway, all they did was confirm a right you already had, at that point they would have been no wiser than you if the complaint would have been upheld or not, 99% of what they tell you is fiction, all they want is your business.

To be fair to them, they do stipulate on their website that you can do this yourself for free -

    Note:

You can submit a claim directly to the lender yourself for no charge. You can also approach the Financial Ombudsman Service and Financial Services Compensation Scheme for free to review your case, providing it falls within their remit and you have approached your lender first.

Unfortunatly the door has closed on Quick Quid complaints now.

You could try going through the small claims track and sue them for breach of contract, a sternly worded letter to start with, would be my choice, they may settle with you at that point, otherwise it can be quite tricky proving it, worth a punt.

  • This is of no help whatsoever to the OP, but another example of never using or having faith in these companies.
