When
we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes
quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb
moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But
once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not
making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are
helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday
to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples
could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or
leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Morning all!
Thanks for starting the thread @DawnW
Hope you all had a good weekend.
Working from home again this week.
Today I have/will:- Check banks
- Update spreadsheet with weekend's spends
- Wash hair and let dry naturally
- Squeeze out end of toothpaste
- Put tortoises in the garden as it's nice today - saves having their lamp on during the day
- Snap a receipt
- Pay money in at Post Office if I have a chance (did a car boot at the weekend) - I'd walk pooch there on my lunch break but think it's too warm for him
- Lunch and dinner from stores
- Crochet in front of the TV - really must finish a birthday present as it needs to go to Australia!

Morning all
Couldn't see a thread, so thought I would start one. Hope I haven't cross posted with anyone else!Up at 5.30, watered the garden, walked the dog, had breakfast (with HG berries)Asked OH to get out and check over a bbq from the garage, that we don't use any more. It is a posh make, so I am going to list it on FB marketplace and try to sell it. We used to take it away in our camper van, which we sold during all the lockdowns etc
We miss it, but it had to be parked out on the road, so needed taxing and insuring even though we couldn't use it. It also needed work done, and was a bit of a worry re vandalism and theft, which we do have bouts of round here, so on the whole we are happy that we made the right decision. Anyway, hopefully someone would like the funky lime green barbie, as it is taking up space in the garage. There are some bags of instant charcoal that can go with it.I have hoovered the middle floor and cleaned up the kitchen a bit. Now sat with a well deserved coffee. This afternoon I am going to restock my sales unit, which I abandoned 3 weeks ago due to covid.I will make mushroom risotto for dinner tonight. Not sure if I will manage anything else!Hope eveyone has a good day - another heat wave forecast this week unfortunately.5 -

Morning all!
Working from home again today.
Today I have/will:- Check banks
- Squeeze out end of moisturiser
- Make a couple of CC payments now statements have come in
- Update spreadsheet
- Leave work phone unplugged unless I need to use it - it's set up to a divert system anyone so doesn't ring but I get a message if someone tries to call (I don't work in a role where my phone often rings - e.g. I've had one call in the last 10 days!)
- Put tortoises in the garden as it's nice today - saves having their lamp on during the day
- Load of washing on 30 degree eco wash
- Shake end of old washing powder into new box so no bits get thrown out
- Text netball team re subs
- Snap a receipt
- Pay money in at Post Office if I have a chance
- Hang washing on airer
- Check prices for books on various sites (as no one even glanced at them at the car boot!)
- Respond to offer on dress which is listed on V*nted - need to decide whether to accept first though!
- Turn off laptop properly at the end of the day
- Lunch and dinner from stores
- Crochet in front of the TV - really must finish a birthday present as it needs to go to Australia!
