    *UPDATE*
    Finally got a resolution.

Parents had an email back from paypal saying they were having 2 refunds (of £150 and £103). It also said the "case is now closed".
Told my parents to phone and say that is not good enough. After all, both auctions were identical, and both were 100% in line with the protection policy. 1 phone call later and they are repaying £150 x 2.
So they lost about £60 overall as the auctions were both a little over £150, but they are relieved.
Seems like ebay / paypal try it on as much as the scammers.
    Be nice
