Fixed tariff energy and house move

I have a very good energy deal until next June. A house I have been interested in for ages has come on market and I want to move. I assume my deal isn’t portable to a new address? Can’t see anything specific about it on the website Anyone know for sure?

I think it depends on the supplier, and also if you current supplier also supplies the new house or not. I've heard of people who have been allowed to take deals with them, but when I moved earlier this year Eon wouldn't let me as new house was different supplier. It was only fixed for another 2 months, so didn't bother pushing it though.1

Very few (if any now) tariffs are portable.
If and when you do move you MUST become a customer of the incumbent supplier at your new address before you do anything else.
Asking your current supplier will get you the definitive answer.1 -

Not all CS staff are familiar with the process, so it is worth going into the conversation with some certainty on your side...With your new property just photograph the meters on the day you take control and phone the existing supplier to register your account, do not be persuaded to take a fixed tariff though, just stay on the capped variable tariff...

I'd say, realistically, your chance is zero. No supplier wants to take on a new customer on an existing competitive fix, they'd be posting a straight loss of at least £500. But by all means ask.

Just go on SVT with the deemed supplier.Simply not true, there have been several cases reported here over the past couple of months.British Gas, EDF and Octopus have all done it.

Its British Gas Evolve - 2 years due to end in June 2023. If we do move it won't be before November. Its a very good deal so I am sure they won't want to let me take it with me.
