It doesn’t really matter how you need their process to be - you only get to dictate the process if you work for them.

You’re stuck with their process; you need to find a way to make it work for you I’m afraid.
I’d ask them to wait a month, and use that time to eat what’s in the freezer.
Thanks Mattyprice4004 but I wont accept that. Someone has to make a stand - and given my current medical condition, Ive the time to take this forward.

Ive been passed round between DnG and currys for 2 months now - both referring me back to each other, both saying different things, both lying about their processes both doing nothing sensible to resolve - even though Ive given solutions.

I dont see why I should have to pay for a freezer, which doesnt work correctly, but in order for me to get replacement, I need to reduce items in it so their uplift process works in the way they want it to.

Thats not good customer service - they can take my credit card details and if I dont give them faulty freezer, they can charge me for replacement of the working freezer they've supplied.

    Problem sorted!!
How about Currys bring you a new freezer you get it up and running, transfer your food and then you pay for the second trip out to collect the faulty appliance?

Wages for two men for a day and the cost to run the van for the day should cover it.

    Problem sorted.
That's what I'm wanting - new freezer first - they wont do that as the uplift procedure is they collect old one first and then at some point deliver new one. They're making the same no of trips, and on different days - so it's not the cost of delivery/collection  Currys are bothered about. But if I agree to their current uplift procedure, Ill end up wasting all currently frozen food - with no compensation from either company - I don't want to waste food cos Currys have a process that doesn't work.
When our 2 day old freezer failed. Contacted Currys. Visit arranged to check. Guy said unrepairable. Wait a couple of days for his report to go to manufacture. Uplift code given. Contacted currys. Choose new freezer. Old one taken & new one delivered at same time. Took around 10 days in total.

@DanDare999 >Offer to pay for the extra day. <

They do not have spare freezer's sat around to lend to people.

But if u only had it 2 days there was minimal food to transfer. U wouldn't have had time to fill it. Ive had freezer for a year. But only 1 of 8 compartments have failed.
Ive filled freezer and got no where to store other 7 frozen compartments.

I dont understand why companies cannot give u replacement first, under certain circumstances, and take old one away at a later date.

It works for them the other way round. Like u say 2 days old freezer not working. Lookef at uplift procedure picked up old and delivered new.

    Id b happy with that.

But say ud had freezer 9 months, filled it, was ready stocked for xmas, and the compartment u had yr turkey in had failed. So not freezing turkey. U have all yr other compartments freezing fine.

But after Xmas u needed to go into hospital and u dont know when you'll be out. Might b a month, or longer.

Turkey can b cooked and reheated.

    Engineer has said replacement required.

Currys can pick up old one now and might deliver new one in 10 days. But u dont know when.

What do you do with the food in the compartments which is frozen if yr neighbours, family, friends, dont have capacity in their freezers to take yr stuff.

Yr not gonna eat it all over xmas /new year as ull be in hospital.

Depending on how long yr in hospital might affect the freezer. It cld get worse. But yr too ill to deal with it then.

Thats the situation im facing now. A freezer which partially works, due for hospital treatment, not sure if ill survive. Frozen stuff id made myself following comments from other people suffering what i have suggested soups.

I made them and need to throw them away as they've not frozen.

I didn't ask for cancer. I didnt expect it. I havent filled my freezer on the expectation i might not live to use the contents.

I just want companies to realise that not all customers are on the same circumstances. So what worked for u, doesn't work for me.

You're talking about Christmas food you couldn't eat isn't it the middle of August now?
I was using Christmas as an example. It could be any time of the year.
Oh ok, you've avoided a lot of questions on here.

Are we to assume once you discovered the problem you stopped batch cooking and didn't add more food to the freezer? You may have eaten a fair bit since then

I've not avoided any questions - please advise what questions I've not answered.

I've stopped putting food in the top compartment as that's the only one not working.

I've used items in the lower compartments - so meats for example. But have created a meal from that with veggies, noodles, rice etc being added to the meat. And so I've leftovers, which I then put back in the freezer to replace the meat I took out.

Im not adding any 'new purchases' to the freezer, if that's what you mean.

    Hope that clarifies.
