LG Now TV app- Word of advice

Just wanted to share my experience. Have a LG OLED TV worth over a grand. Took advantage of the Sky sports offer at 19.99 a month for 12 months and 1 month free boost (enjoy the football, darts, F1,golf etc so worth it for me). Was a little hesitant as the picture quality of the sports channel when I had it last was poor, but thought I would give it a try as I could always cancel after the first month. I assumed that it was because I didn't have boost. However on viewing the sport through the LG Now TV appt (with boost) the picture quality was still a little underwhelming i.e juddering, poor picture quality, poor at dealing with fast moving objects. On further research it appears that the LG Now TV App doesn't support 50fps which is essential to smooth streaming of sport. I had a spare Now TV stick so decided to stream the sports through this. The picture is brilliant, proper HD, no juddering. This stick supports 50fps and the difference is amazing. I can't believe that a TV that costs over a grand would have such a poor app. LG need to sort themselves out as a £20 Now TV stick beats them for picture quality. Any one else had this experience!?

Interesting post... I wasn't aware of this issue. Which model TV do you have?

It's more likely that Now made the app for the LG range of TVs supported rather than the other way round.  That's why we have App Stores ;)

Sorry not sure of the models but I have 3 LG 55inch screens (one OLED the other two UHD/4k) from 2017, 2020 and 2021. Now TV app on all 3 is rubbish for sport. Absolutely fine with movies and entertainment. As Neil_Jones rightly said it is likely NOW that supply the app that is at fault and not LG. Watched the Palace/Arsenal game last night and currently watching the Everton/Chelsea match now via the stick and the picture quality is second to none.
