Combi boiler. Are you saying that is why the gas usage is 18360 kWh ?Alnat1 said:@John_Philip_Howarth how is your hot water heated? Do you have a combi boiler or is there a hot water tank?0 -
No, was wondering if there was a hot water tank on constantly or similar.
What temperature do you have the boiler set to? A lot of us now have it around 50 for hot water, 55 for heating (might need turning up a bit on very cold days). Do you have TRVs on all the radiators?Barnsley, South Yorkshire

No hot water tank. Just a combi boiler. No numbers on it, just a dial. Not sure what a TRV is. Very rarely have central heating on0

How can you say rarely have the central heating on yet use over 18,000 kWh a year.John_Philip_Howarth said:No hot water tank. Just a combi boiler. No numbers on it, just a dial. Not sure what a TRV is. Very rarely have central heating on
Is the dial sent to max/min or the middle?
What's the make and model(apologies if you have already mentioned this)0 -
Worcester green Star junior. Dial for the water is set in the middle. Dial for central heating turned to off, as not been on for months, just use a gas fire in the evenings if it gets a bit chilly. So, at a bit of a loss as to why usage is 18,000 kWh for gas when others seem to be a lot lower than this figureMstty said:

@John_Philip_Howarth Have you checked that the measurement units shown on your meter (cubic metres or 100s of cubic feet) are consistent with the units used to convert to kWh on your bills? If the wrong units have been used it could mean that your billed gas usage is 2.83 times the actual usage.0

Does your boiler have the option to hold a small tank of hot water that is available 24/7 and if so, do you have that feature turned on? If so, that could be adding a considerable amount to your bills.

Can you elaborate a bit more please. I don't understand what I am checking. The meter has only one dial with the number on. How does 2.83 times actual usage come into play?Etch said:@John_Philip_Howarth Have you checked that the measurement units shown on your meter (cubic metres or 100s of cubic feet) are consistent with the units used to convert to kWh on your bills? Does your meter measure the units in m3 or in ft3 is what they were trying to ask. It should be clearly indicated on the actual meter. Then you need to check on a bill and make sure your supplier is using the correct m3 or ft3 to calculate your bills.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Somewhere on the meter it should say either m3 or ft3. If in doubt just post a picture of the meter.0
