I have had 5 quotes for our small 3 bed bungalow to a 3 bed house -
£2500
£1900
£1100
£1050 (they knew we had a quote of £1100)
£695
realistically I wasn’t going to touch the 2 highest and was going to go with the £1050- however the £695 is cheaper as they have one massive lorry as opposed to 2. They have great reviews. It really does pay to shop around - and these are without ‘mates rates’ x0 -
Hi, I'm in Dorset. Blimey that sounds like a lot. Mind you judging by all the comments, my quote is pretty inexpensive so perhaps that's the norm now. Seems totally crazy on top of the costs of moving already doesn't it!DiyVirgin said:wow what part of the country are you in? Currently getting quotes from Surrey to Oxfordshire (55 miles) on a 4 bed property. The fridge/freezer is staying and there are no wardrobes (all fitted) and we have had quotes from £1800 - £4500 so far (including packing). We have the removal company we used to move in 10 years ago coming on Monday for a quote so hopefully he will be at the lower end.1

Hell's Bell's !!
I was getting £3-4k for a two bed to two bed, 40miles. Half the companies I asked didn't even want to quote as there wasn't enough money in it for them.
