So my electricity supply was with eon and then last year they become eon Next and transfer didn't go well as it turned out they were not able to read smart meter for 6 months and they didn't send bills for that period but I had static direct debit in place during that time. February this year they decided to bill me for those periods and I raised complaint as it's their fault not mine so I got credit added to account to reduce debt. Now today they decided to do review and again charged me for that period and removed all credit on my account. So my direct debit in 2 weeks will be 130 higher due to this! Raised another complaint but got told wait 8 week's for billing history to be analysed! Anyone else had this? I'm furious! Might contact ombudsman.

Did you use the energy they are charging for?

You might get some money for them not handling it well, but if you used the energy you need to be very lucky if yo don't have to pay for it. Backfilling rule would only kick in after 12 months, which shows you also what is thought to be acceptable.

I did use but I was already paying direct debit throughout the period.

Worked out I was underpaying by 10 per month during that period so outstanding would be 60 not 130. They charging me for full amount even though I paid majority via DD and they already agreed to credit me for it February as mentioned but now doing it all again.

    Ok, that sounds very different.

So you were happy with paying what was already covered by your DD and just queried the additional 60 to £130.

im confused (easily done). are you saying you paid DD into your energy account but they billed you for the usage ignoring this credit? ive never heard of that happening but that's what you seem to be saying.

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

So, you paid DD every month but they didn't bill you so your credit balance went up.
Then 6 months later they billed you for the amount used, using the credit in your account.
Now they have charged you again for the same usage?
I think we/they definitely need to see your billing history to find out whats going on.

To clarify I was on fixed direct debit but during a 6.month period they failed to generate bills.
Then they raised the bill for 6 months minus what I already paid but decided to credit me after I moaned so ended up paying 30 extra for that period only.

Today they re billed me for that 6 months period and reversed credit in my account and added on the full amount for that 6 months period not removing money paid Via DD during that period.

The raising of your direct debit may have little to do with the lack of monthly billing.

Q1) Did you create an online account with Eon Next?
Q2) Did you give Eon Next monthly meter reads anyway?  Your meter read history would show a lack of any readings.
Q3)  How much was your credit?
Q4)  Have you worked out what sort of payments you will need to make for the year commencing October 1st 2022 to cover your anticipated usage?
Q5)  Do you know what your household actual usage is likely to be (rather than Eon Next estimate) for the year commencing 1st October 2022?

FWIW, my average monthly payments in the year to 30th September 2022 will work out to be in the region of £81pcm.  For the year starting 1st October 2022 (when my present 1-year fix runs out) I'd be looking in the region of £205+ pcm (using actual usage for the period 12 months prior, including the £400 grant but excluding any further changes to usage).  So my monthly DD would need to rise by £124+ pcm if I was paying by fixed monthly DD.

Bill doesn't show the credit added in February or the payment I already made during the missed period. So won't help.
It break's down the charge so has last month usage and then shows January 2021 to June 2021 charge of 130.

I already had credit added to that in February.
They are trying to charge me again for that period without taking off amount already paid
