Amazon account on hold but no one will speak to me!

I have spoken to customer services at Amazon 8 times due to my Amazon account being put on hold around the end of April 2022, they claim they do not know why it is on hold and claim they cant speak directly to the accounts team who need to deal with this. I have even email the Amazon UK MD's email address 3 times but it is still unresolved!

I have had 5 emails (2 on the same day!) over the last 3 months claiming they would be in touch within 24-48 hours the first being recieved 11/05/2022 - I am still awaiting a reply!!

Has anyone had this problem before? Who do I speak to? What can I do next?

I think this is probably linked to my seller account which Amazon decided was not that of an 'individual seller'; I am!

Even if I wasn't, why put my account on hold?

HELP!!!

Nothing you can do except wait.  They're not obliged to keep you as a customer and if they have any suspicions about your status, they can suspend or close your account.  They need no evidence to do so, nor do they need to provide an explanation.

well in the interest of balance, I've never had a problem with them. As recently as last week, an order did not arrive. Was resolved with a quick phone call and they refunded me and gave me £5 credit off my next order.

Same here.  Had very few problems in years of custom, and the few problems I have had were resolved quickly.

maybe. although I think certainly some of those people who have had "problems" with amazon have been operating their accounts in such a way to cause some of the issues

It could be one of a multitude of things, a pattern of sales which indicates business sales, a brand has complained about some items you are selling, a complaint by a buyer that triggers a fraud check, AML checks, if you have made a high rate of returns etc.

Are you able to reply to any of those emails or are they all no-reply emails? Unfortunately they do not have to deal with you, I have heard of people that have fallen foul of selling rules just having their accounts put on hold indefinitely, nothing you can do about it though, if they do not want to let you sell on their platform, or buy from them, then you cannot force them.
  • Several people have commended Amazon on their service and I for one as a buyer can say the same I have never had a problem and I have been using them as soon as they came on line as a book seller.

However the guys problem relates to a seller account and your praises are not meaningful.

Stekears has made some comments which although can be classed as crass are not untruthful, and does not warrant Undervalued to stick his oar in, just as bad as making crass comments.

I can sympathise with Brookeyboy as I am trying to sort out the same problem for a friend, what you need to check is.

what type of account you have FBA, Central seller etc

Read the contract you have them, if you can decipher which one

are you registered for other country accounts, if so then amazon want you to be VAT registered and will block you if you are not registered. Even if you are below any countries VAT level.

I have been all through your problems that they do not want to talk to you so I am now taking the ballistic route and writing (not email) to the managing Director Amazon UK and sending it registered post. let see what happens.

How do you know whether their comments are truthful or not?

Their attitude in another other Amazon thread isn't exactly great either!

Presumably you think this is merely offensive and not untrue?
