What date did you complete the property purchase?
What were the meter readings used in the bill for £1,590.13?Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Solar PV 5.25kWp SW facing (14 x 375) installed Mar 22
Lux 3.6kw hybrid inverter and 9.6kw Pylontech batteries
Daikin 8kW ASHP installed Jan 25

So you are saying that absolutely no gas was used from 28 May to 22 June. So the only thing you should be paying for for that time is any any standing charge plus VAT.
And electric you've used only 20 units so there's only that at whatever their rate is plus standing charge plus VAT.
I would suggest you work out for yourself what you believe the bill should have been and pay that amount, asking again for a amended bill to reflect that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. And keep track of every call you made on which day, to what number, talked to whom and what was discussed. I very much assume that the former tenants either underreported or never gave meter readings.
Not really your problem, but it would explain where your problem comes from.1 -
I am wondering if as the difference is quite large, if they think you overstated the opening read so that you would get a chunk of free energy, possibly because the previous occupant had been understating their usage. Did you take pictures of the meter when you moved in?MigsyBigsy said:Alnat1 said:What date did you complete the property purchase?
