New gas supply, but no supplier

Unfortunately I doubt that Octopus will let you add gas to the existing fix for electricity. You will need a new contract for this.Jeff_Dee said:Thanks QrizB, that's a very useful page you've put together there. I'm keeping regular readings so I know exactly how much I've been using (which isn't very much so far). I need to get officially in the system so I can get a good fixed tariff before the increases in October and January.
Can you have different tariffs for electricity and gas? I'm already on a fixed tariff with Octopus for electricity which started last September which obviously I want to keep. The new gas supplier is also supposed to be Octopus.
"Fixed" and "good" tariff is an oxymoron, especially with Octopus at the moment. They just don't offer anything that is not far more expensive than SVT as a fixed tariff.
You might want to look at gas tracker, even so the cap on it also has increased recently, making it less desirable.0 -
Yes you can have gas & electric on different tariffs with Octopus, but it is worth asking if you can add the gas to your existing fix, worst case they say no, but never hurts to ask...Jeff_Dee said:Can you have different tariffs for electricity and gas?
