Morning folks
@DawnW - take it slowly with the covid. I found if I did too much, it really knocked me back.
It's piddling down here which is good for the garden and the allotment. Managed to cut the grass last night just as the rain began. I then pottered round the house and finished my Iceland walk. Unfortunately I got it into my head to have a couple of rums to celebrate and I've had a rubbish night's sleep now.
MSE things today:B/L/D from stores
Try to get a lift home with colleague
OH working
Possibly some knitting - finishing socks that I started last year!
Spendy things:Working from the office so petrol used
Other things:OH to do the housework
Have a good one all

Afternoon allJust woke up - I did originally get up at 6 and do some stuff thoughI'm not a great one for sitting about, so tend to do some little things then collapse in a heap. OH is dealing with it by sitting in one spot watching sport all day, but each to their own. The house deperately needs cleaning, but serious housework will have to wait till we have more energy! I have managed the following:Sat outside first thing with my lemsip and the dogPlanted out half a dozen lettuces in a bare spot that I didn't have to bend down much to reach, and watered them inTook dog for a short and solitary walk, and fed himPut away washing that was dried outside yesterdayCleaned bathroom wash basin and loo, emptied bin etc, watered and fed the orchids that live in the bathroomDid those few things over about 6 hours, then fell asleepNow considering what else to do. I think I will:Sort out the dishwasher and washing upRoast the courgettes that are languishing in the fridge. I will do them in the Ninja air fryer thing to save putting on the oven. Once roasted they can sit in the fridge (or be frozen) until wanted.See what else needs using / cooking / freezing / chucking out in the fridge. We are eating very little and unfortunately some things will be getting binned this week
Not moneysaving at all, and wasting food just seems wrong to me.
I am jealous of the rain that is being reported. Still none here, and only a matter of time till we get a hose pipe ban. The water authority next to ours has already put one in place. It isn't even very pleasant, as we have quite thick cloud with a nasty drying wind (though good for drying laundry obviously).A good freezer haul there, @allydowd. I don't tend to keep much cooked stuff in mine, mostly things that need cooking.Better rouse myself and get sorting that fridge!5 -

Hello all,Well I didn't do the fridge yesterday, went to bed instead. Slept most of the afternoon and night, and feel better for it today. Hopefully the wretched virus is on its way out! Still have a fuzzy brain and odd stomach, but I haven't needed to take any paracetamol yet today, so that is a plus. I have done the following so far:Walked the dog before anyone else much was about. Kept at least the width of the road away from anyone I did pass.RM surveys stuffOH and I have prepped a big pot of ratatouille to use up some of the fridge veg, so have at least started on thatA little bit of watering, not much needed today. I have a big jug in the kitchen to catch the water from the hot tap before it heats up, instead of letting it run down the drain. Condenser boilers are so wasteful of water. Intend to do the same in the bathroom, with a bucket! An online food order, as a trip to Lidl is not on the cards this week. Chose Waitr*se - I want some fresh fruit and veg items, and they are the only supermarket I really trust for this now unfortunately. Most are fine if you are able to choose your own, but otherwise a big no from me. Obviously more expensive than Lidl, but their essentials range is reasonable for the most part, and of reliable good quality. Luckily I didn't need much.It drizzled for 15 minutes or so this morning
Not enough to do any good, we really need several days of steady gentle rain after all the dry weather, but better than nothing.
Not sure if I will manage much else today, but will be back and update if I do!3 -
Morning all
@DawnW - hopefully you're on the mend. You sound a lot more active than I was, especially the first time round when it took me a week to take down the Christmas tree!
Busy busy busy with work. I could do with a couple of days off but hey ho. Ended up buying bits for tea last night as I'm feeling a bit off cooking at the moment. I was inspired by Ally's freezer dive - ours needs defrosting so I need to eat up things out of it!
Cooking - I want to get an airfyer, but one that is combined with a slow cooker (to save on having multiple appliances). Any recommendations?
MSE thingsB/L/D from stores
Asked OH to get bits from freezer - will cook a quick chickpea curry for my tea and use up some stewed aubergine that is knocking about in the freezer.
Ask colleague for a lift home (petrol/train ticket saved)
Be frugal with power
Had annual review with financial advisor. No outstanding actions.
OH working tonight
Non-MSE things:Worked from the office so petrol spend
Booked in to see therapist re mum. So will cost £40 (but money hopefully well spent.)
Other things:Potter round the house. Probably will dust the living room.
Bit of knitting and watch the Crossfit Games
Have a good one all
