I've assumed that the your August reading will show a similar in-period usage to July.Based on the capped SVT, your total bill for the past 12 months should be around £1111 plus £250 for standing charges - so £1361.Assuming the next 12 months sees the same consumption, and using the CI predicted capped tariff values, I get this:(I know that's 14 months in the table, not 12, so sue me.)Over the next 12 months, that's £2725 in energy costs plus £250 standing charges, for a total of £2975.There are some odd things about your energy use - why is everything so high in May/Jun? why is electricity so low in Aug/Sep and Nov/Dec? - but the numbers are what they are.If anyone else wants to try modelling this as well, feel free.

You are paying a fixed direct debit, the average of you usage for the next 12 month estimated by Bulb. So yes in summer you pay more than your usage, and in winter less than for example the £328 @qrizb calculated
If you want to pay only for what you use go onto variable direct debit.
With the next review Bulb does your fixed direct debit will go a lot again, as we get a big increase in October that Bulb has not included yet in their calculations.0 -
To the OP, using QuizB's very comprehensive analysis of what you will pay over the next 12 months your average monthly payment needs to be in the region of £2975/12 = £247.92 pcm (without the £400 grant) and £2575/12 = £206.25 (including the grant). This assumes that you have a nil balance on your account and that you pay the SVT rates that have been worked out on the basis of the Cornwall projections.
I know my current yearly payments to Eon Next will shortly change from circa £970 (on a good fix) to circa £2833 (excluding the £400 grant). Had I been on a fixed DD, I'd be expecting to up a payment from circa £81 to something in the region of £205-£235 depending on whether or not the £400 grant is included.1 -

This August I'm supposed to pay a recommended £173.90 a minimum of £154.71 but according to your graph I should pay £124.22. This is exactly what I'm trying to say I'm using less energy why are they charging me more? Yeah actually I don't think I understand the graph for example if I look at Apr 2022 that looks really high. Ok I might be able to explain why electrcity was so high in May/Jun that's because I was using an electric heater. I stopped using it when I saw the next bill. Sorry i'm a little lost right now.
i think what people are trying to say is that you dont pay for each month as you use it. you pay 1/12 of your annual bill and anything over what youve spent that month is used as credit for when you spend more in winter. so you can't really be fleeced because your money is held and if in spring you have a lot of credit you can ask for it back and start the year building up to the next winter if you want.
energy company predictions can be weird though because they're based on a computer looking at your use before and putting that forward. if there's been something weird like your mistake with the heater (or if you do something like replace an old fridge that was sucking up electricity) then that can throw off their figures. that's why people were asking for your figures and rates to help you work it out more accurately.
QuizB has worked out your annual bill (based what you say you use and the prices expected for october) will be around £3000. that means you should try and pay about £250 a month into your energy account if you can.
Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.2 -
