THE BPA SAY:
While recent updates and the current Government structural changes create more uncertainty and questions
https://www.britishparking-media.co.uk/news/update-on-the-private-parking-code-of-practice-act
For once the BPA are right they will be uncertain and worried that Sir Greg Knight's' bill will proceed ...... and the fake debt collecors add-ons will be banned
BPA Chief Executive said.... Without effective parking management, places would become congested and inaccessible.” ???
Which CEO would you believe, the BPA CEO or the CEO of a professional company like M&S, who stated that Oxford Street in London was like a morgue
The simple fact is that the only places that are congested and inaccessible are motorways
Nobody has said that we don't need effective parking management, but the BPA and IPC members fail to do this
The BPA read this forum and see the scams that go on .... they do nothing about it and more so support it. The fake cloud dreaming £60/£70 actually came from the BPA
It's not just parking tickets which will be price capped, it not just debt collectors whose fakes will be banned, it is also the BPA for allowing so many scams
YES, they should be worried

If it were true that £50/£25 is not an effective deterrent, then people would be dumping their cars on-street, as a Council PCN is cheaper than the risk of a private one AND Councils can't use ANPR for parking enforcement.
We would all see cars parked on street deliberately attracting PCNs in cities. The only time you see that as a real issue is with supercars parked outside Harrods, and on odd days when Bournemouth gets swamped because they fail to provide or signpost sufficient tourist spaces or park & ride car parks.
Last time I visited Brighton seafront this Summer, there was not an influx of rogue parkers along the kerb nor vehicles dumped on double yellows. All was good. People are not looking to attract PCNs.
This is NOT a deterrent issue.
It's a money issue. We all know that.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

"This is NOT a deterrent issue".
The claims that appear on this forum and not from bilkers and chancers. They are from motorists who have parked in bays that they have every right to use in the case of residential car parks. They are motorists whose cars are forced to stop or slow down in a no-stopping zone. Holders of a blue badge who accidently knock off the badge. Motorists who fall foul of inadequate ANPR systems.
The list is not exhaustive but certainly not people who have gone out of their way to avoid payment of the parking tariff or to avoid compliance with the PPC's extensive terms and conditions.

BPA Chief Executive said.... Without effective parking management, places would become congested and inaccessible.”
A garbage quote from a garbage organisation
The reality is that they are driving people away for the wrong reasons that’s hardly effective management
the only effective management here is the PPC’s bank accounts
My heart bleeds for them

The fact is that the BPA has totally abused the authority given to them by allowing a board member who is a debt coillector to scam the motorist.SergeiK said:BPA Chief Executive said.... Without effective parking management, places would become congested and inaccessible.”

In the House of commons, when Sir Greg Knight was introducing his parking bill, it was made very clear that parking companies could be terminated ...AND ATA's
Many people will be asking what will government do about these out of control ATA's and that will be highlighted in the consultation
Whoever becomes the PM, ... will they allow the public to be scammed ??
And for those who are new to this, have a read of this ....
https://parkmaven.com/news/gary-osner-zzps-interview
The secret to successful parking enforcement? Mind control. Just ask Gary Osner, founder of ZZPS.
(And board member of the BPA)
MIND CONTROL ???
INTERPRETATION = We will fake charges to scare you into paying
And this one tells you all about the lowest form of lifeZZPS hound a dying man and say they'll only stop if they see a death certificate

The BPA seem to think that such disgusting behavior is acceptable
Another story to put in the consultation with a request that government terminates them from the private parking industry because they are not fit for purpose.

He's actually right, in a way. There is effective parking management in council car parks and public highways (also managed by councils). They have a deterrent level of fine that isn't excessive (London being the exception, though even there the fines are not excessive compared to the cost of parking lawfully), regulations saying what you can and cannot issue a fine for, and a proper, independent appeals system. We may not like council CEOs, and some may be a bit trigger happy, and we may find the tribunal process awkward and byzantine at times, but it seems to work. I'll choose a council car park over a private one any day.patient_dream said:
