Quick question.
MIL/FIL (in their 80's) are coming to the end of their current contract with TalkTalk (on 10th August). As they receive Pension Credit I know that they are able to receive BT's Home Essentials package ranging from £10-£20 (for fibre FTTC + unlimited/700min pcm phone calls for the £15 package). Presently their contract has them paying in the high £40's for a poor 'Fast' (non Fibre) service. Can they start an order to switch to their chosen BT Essentials product before the 10th August without any agggravation from Talk Talk particularly WRT any early cancellation fees so long as they select a start date commencing 10th August (or later)? I am assuming that they/me will not need to give any notice of any 30-day notice of cancellation (to TT) prior to setting the wheels of the switch process?

Yes they can start now with no issues. By the time the new service goes live they will most likely be past the date the old minimum term expired. Even if the switch happened before that any early exit fees would be minimal that close to the end of the minimum term.Starting the new order with the new supplier will give notice to the current supplier. You do not need to contact the current supplier.1
