    Yep in the queue now.
    42 mins so far.
Ok all .... finally was able to get through and due to my remarks in MCOL and the fact they were able to tie up my email then the MCOL information has been 'errored off'.

So ... my emailed doc will become my defence.

    On it!

Can I ask how long these court hearings last and how much defendants are expected to talk?

Fairly straightforward cases have about an hour allocated, sometimes 2 hours. The judge will possibly ask you to give a short presentation of your case, following on after the claimant has presented theirs. You might be asked a few short questions by the judge and/or claimant's representative.

But this is all likely to be academic. Read other CP Plus/Highview/UKPC/DCB Legal cases. This will be discontinued before you get anywhere near a courtroom. All becoming totally predictable. But - you mustn't down tools in this expectation. In fact the more robust and methodical you are, the more likely you'll be able to get them off your back earliest.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Despite me saying this ....

... looks like you potentially have a CCJ (including the false additional 'debt collection' charges) against you. Oh my.  You need to find out for how much it is and by when it must be paid. Make sure you pay that before the deadline or you're looking at a major financial disaster blighting your ability to acquire credit for the next six years!
I received an offer to settle via email on 11/10/22 giving 7 days to pay. I logged in - can get to the payment page - and would settle that if it is an option still.
Unlikely to be on offer as they will have received a judgment in their favour for much more. That was the point at which you would have squeezed a discontinuation from them had you dealt with it then.
