    It`s all explained in the sticky thread at the top of this forum.

    In the US, for example, your credit score is an accepted status of credit worthiness.

    However in the UK, the scores you see are generated by the CRA`s, and are at best just an indication of how you manage your credit, no one see`s that number but you, lenders here use there own, highly secret method of credit scoring, to decide whether to lend to you, or not.

    It`s never fully explained very clearly, as credit scoring here is a source of income for the CRA`s, (they act as brokers and take a fee) defiantly one they don`t wish to lose.
