Yes the point is you get unlimited bus rides after a couple that you pay for it maxes out once you pay for day pass. Then after a couple of days it maxes out at a weeks pass, same for month then year pass.[Deleted User] said:That would be three transactions.
what is there to stop multiple people using the same credit card account on multiple devices with something like Apple Pay?0 -
Nothing, if that's what you want and the card allows that number of devices.
Why are you and your wife buying multiple bus passes every day?0 -
You would be breaking the rules of your card provider to start with. Banking cards are individual and you should not be allowing anyone else to use them.Jaded2022 said:
Say you paid for a bus using a credit card and your wife paid for it somewhere else using same card?
would you only pay for one days buss pass?
This is a different scenario to what you described in your first post. If you personally want to use your banking card in 2 different physical entities then you could do that with the physical card and then a virtual card in Apple / Google pay on your phone.
There are certain circumstances where you have to think about which one you used, for example if you use a service where multiple uses in a day mean an aggregated discount then it may mean ensuring you use the same method all the time, but many can aggregate across the physical and virtual cards.
This is not a method for sharing your banking cards with others. It can be done but is not within the banks rules. Get a named card for them if that is what you really want to do.1 -
It would save money if a wife uses her card on Apple Pay and others in the house use the actual card using the same weekly bus pass that was already paid for400ixl said:

Each device is effectively a different card number and so TFL doesn't know that the physical card and iPhone are using the same account and so the pricing cap applies per card/device not per account.0 -

So what if you use same card on one device in the morning and one in the afternoon and your wife used another device same card in the evening?dr_adidas01 said:Jaded2022 said:

Yes you can as they use there own individual tokenisation ID.Jaded2022 said:
Can’t you have apply pay on two phones?Ms_Chocaholic said:Can you add it to Apple Pay so you always have it with you (if you have your phone with you that is). I don't think you can have 2 cards on the same account in your name.I have a few of my cards on my IPhone, Apple Watch and also my iPad.
would you only pay for one days buss pass?No you would each pay for your individual buss pass and be charged accordingly i.e 2 separate transactions, as you both would have paid separately.I don't think you are grasping that each device has its own unique token ID and its that which is used to identify which device was used to pay.You can have your cards on up to 10 devices (depending on the card provider) if you have that many devices should you so choose to do so.Here we go again!! EACH DEVICE HAS ITS OWN TOKENISATION ID which means is basic terms it has its own unique number, so for example the token ID on your phone could be XYZ111 Your wifes token ID could be 234ASD and the other token ID on what ever device could be 145CVB.So say you use your card on your device it will register as XYZ111 has made a payment. You use it again so it will register device XYZ111 has made another payment.Your wife makes a payment which will register 234ASD has made a payment. So in total 3 payments on seperate devices have been made so you will be charged for the 3 payments. It can't be explained anymore simply than has already been stated by many posters!!Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
