Can i close my amazon prime account and then sign up again and hence beat the impending price rise?

It may make sense if you're currently on a monthly plan and take out an annual one.0

With Amazon putting the price of membership up to £95 from the 15th Sept 2022 for RENEWALS and new customers, check your renewal date.
It could well be worth cancelling your membership on the 14th of Sept and as soon as you get the email confirming your cancelation take out a new membership for £79 which will last till 14th Sept 2023.
I'm new to the site so if anyone knows where better to post this then feel free.0 -
Think I'll be doing exactly that0

Yes, the increase is for renewals FROM the 15th Sept 2022.
If you cancel your membership on the 14th then take out a new membership for £79 that lasts until Sept 2023 rather than pay the £95.
Even if you have a yearly membership and you cancel you should get a refund of unused membership.
My renewal date is Feb 2023 so I will be cancelling on the 14th Sept 2022 and take out a new membership.2 -

Thanks for the prompt replies. I thought as much but didn’t want to get caught with the “that email/account already exists” response.0
